Here's a beauty right here folks.  The Aspen 2 is different from the Aspen 1 in materials and tone.  Featuring very highly flamed Maple back and sides and a flamed Maple neck (Aspen 1 is mahogany neck) for a rich and crisp tone.  The maple neck adds a certain "pop" that the mahogany tends to soften.  The headstock is inlayed with Mother of Pearl "Weber" and a Celtic knot (not silkscreened like #1).  Adorned with full Ivoroid binding on the top, back, neck and around the soundhole, it's quite the looker besides it's incredible tone. 

 

If you haven't played a top-notch flat-top mandolin, this is one that will prove to you how great one can be.  It would be a great match for any mandolinist Celtic or Bluegrass, Jazz or Folk, because it's tone is such a unique voice that it would compliment other instruments or other mandolins very well.  Or if you're really ate up with it like we are, try the octave mandolin version of it, the Sage 2 which we have as well.
