Master violin maker Karl Höfner founded his own stringed and fretted instrument company in Schönbach, Germany in 1887. With a reputation for quality, craftsmanship and innovation, Höfner soon became the largest manufacturer of stringed and fretted instruments in Germany. They recieved worldwide acclaim when Paul McCartney started playing their Violin Bass and John Lennon played their Club model guitar. To this day Höfner guitars are among the finest instruments you can buy, and with the introduction of the Contemporary Series, a quality Höfner has never been more affordable.
This guitar is the affordable version of the one that was so popular with Lennon and George Harrison. Features all German hardware and two original Höfner 'Diamond' pick-ups.
The 2007 model includes a sustain block for a more modern sound. By virtue of its compact body dimensions it is less susceptible to feedback, even at high volume.
