We couldn't resist the combination of Cocobolo and beautiful flamed Maple binding, it's a perfect combination - like Spaghetti and Tomato Sauce, Wine and Cheese, or Homer and Jethro. The deep dark reds and browns of the master grade Cocobolo stand as such a stark contrast to the clean, light Maple binding and backstrip, that one's eye is immediately tempted by it's beauty. As many know, Cocobolo is a Rosewood which grows on the Pacific Coast of Central America. It is typically more vibrant in color than other Rosewoods and yields a deep, rich, loud and clear sound. This particular piece of Cocobolo is rich in hue, and complex in grain. Down the center of the bookmatched back is spectacular "spider-webbing" and figure quite reminiscent of Brazilian Rosewood. The flawless Englemann adds to the lush boom of the sound. You get the feeling this thing is ready for takeoff, no matter how you play it. With plenty of volume for a flatpicker, and a powerful and warm fingerstyle sound, this thing can take you places. Truly a special instrument, handbuilt by some of the finest builders on earth, we've further customized this sweetie with a 1 11/16 neck width at the nut, Ebony Tuning buttons, a Cocobolo headstock overlay, and the assymetrical bracing. Lovely indeed. Price includes a fine, fine Ameritage case and a custom set up for you by your friends at Steilberg String Instruments. Look at the photos and know this guitar is far more beautiful than any computer monitor could ever show.
