What a cool little mandolin! Bruce Weber has rekindled the flame of the long-lost "true" Flatiron-type instruments with the Flat Series in the Weber line. This one, the Y2K (or Y2K7 now) , was originally concieved as an entertainment device for the masses when the computers were expected to crash on New Years of 2000. Figuring everyone would need a nice portable little instrument to pass the time, this mando was born in the Weber shop in Montana . And 8 years later the computers are still whizzing and whirring like they always did (well, not really ALWAYS), yet sadly we've heard that not every household is graced with the divine presence of a mandolin.
Fear not kind people, here's a USA built, all solid wood mandolin perfect for anyone still in need of filling that hole. The Celtic A-shape with a D-shaped oval soundhole make for a sweet voice with surprising volume and plenty of warmth for Folk, County, Celtic, Jazz, Blues, Classical or even an alternative to a typical Bluegrass sound. If you're one of the lucky folks with a mandolin in the house already, consider this another tool for your belt of sounds.
Mahogany and Spruce with an Ebony fingerboard and an archtop hardshell case.
And it's so much cooler than a stupid computer anyway...
