This is the mother of all dulcimers. The Russell Cook Edition 16/15. This piece has it all. It is based on a 16/15 Ultralight with the Bantham weight option, which allows for a lighter weight instrument and a deeper, louder voice. Then they add an extra 16th bass course which allows a low C, D, G or A. Rosewood bridges which produce a rich mellow tone. Redwood stripped into the back to amplify the effects of redwood in the soundboard, plus a dark stained top to visually aid seeing the strings in unusual or poor lighting. The list goes on and on, this is the piece that Russell Cook designed for himself, as such, it is certifiably the perfect hammer dulcimer. There are options on this that you just can't find anywhere else. Not to mention that this one comes with dampers! They work just like the dampers on a piano, which give you a whole new tonal dynamic.
