The Premier FF Mandolins from Breedlove have been so popular that
we've really had a hard time keeping the around. They've got a lot to
offer in terms of beauty, quality, workmanship, tone and value. This
one is no different - and it happens to be really dang pretty as well.
The Honeyburst has quickly become one of our favorite shadings on these
fine instruments. You get the accentuated beauty that a burst
naturally creates, but it's light enough that all of the high quality
woods are easy to see - so you're getting the most visually. But also,
it looks just different enough to be both traditional and refreshingly
unique.
This mando also boasts higher level wood selection as well as
bracing. So the fine folks at Breedlove spent more time with this
beauty, really trying to get more acoustic power from it's body. The
Maple back and sides are very well flamed, as is the neck, which has a
gloss on the headstock, but the playing surface on the rear of the neck
is hand rubbed to be comfortable and fast without the stickiness of
some gloss finishes. The Sitka top is evenly and tightly grained for
beauty and fantastic tone production. The ebony peghead overlay is
also adorned with a subtle Kim Breedlove inlay.
Tonally it's got the pop and volume a traditional player would need,
as well as the depth and life they would want, but would expect to pay
a whole bunch more for. With the Schertler Pickup, though, your
options shall be endless. Plug in, play at church, play with a drummer
at the local blues jam, play with your buddies at the open mic night or
onstage at a big festival. Bluegrass, rock or jazz - This thing'll do
it.
And of course, this thing exemplifies the fantastic playability that Breedlove Mandolins. Your left hand will thank you. Also features a hardshell case, a lifetime warranty, a Monteleone tailpiece and Schaller tuners.
Your spouse said it was cool to get whatever you wanted.
